Hi, friends!
My name is Katie. I’m a writer, teacher, a life-long learner, a wife to Benjamin and a mama to eight in a beautifully blended family.
I write because the most sense I can make of the world comes through two things: knowing Jesus and putting words on paper. So that's what I do here: I wrote about my faith, my family, my community, and figuring out how to live into a life that is all for God's glory.
In October of 2016, my son Cannon was diagnosed with autism, and it messed me up enough to get real clear with Jesus about what something so 'wrong' could mean about a God who always does right. But like He always does, Jesus showed up in my shakiest places and steadied my footing for the journey He has asked us to walk. I won't tell you it is easy, but I will tell you that for the first time in my life I am truly learning what grace for grace (John 1:16) really means. And then in 2023, my first marriage ended, which is another big part of my story. I write a lot about that over on Substack, and would love for you to join me over there if you can!
And because one can tell a lot about a person by a good list of favorites, mine include: my navy blue sherpa throw blanket, the Peloton, Lululemon align bike shorts, an overstocked bookshelf, late nights and hard questions, sharpie pens, my journal Bible, college football Saturdays, and anything that starts with the words salted caramel..
I'm so glad you're here.
Soli Deo Gloria.
